Partners& hosts empowering women’s health webinar Advocating for workplace wellbeing
Advocating for workplace wellbeing
Partners&, a leader in employee wellbeing initiatives, recently hosted a groundbreaking webinar focused on empowering women’s health in the workplace. This event brought together industry-leading experts to discuss critical issues and share strategies for supporting women’s health at work.
Expert insights on women’s health issues
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Karolina Afors, delivered an in-depth overview of key women’s health issues including endometriosis, PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), and menopause. Dr. Afors highlighted the impact these conditions have on women in the workplace and stressed the importance of businesses responding proactively to support affected employees. Her comprehensive presentation provided attendees with valuable information on recognising symptoms, understanding treatment options, and implementing supportive workplace practices.
Legal approaches to workplace wellness
The webinar also featured Employment Partner Katherine Flowers from Burges Salmon, who shared critical insights on the legal frameworks and policies businesses should adopt to support women’s health. Flowers emphasised the necessity of establishing comprehensive health strategies that not only comply with legal requirements but also foster a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Survey highlights need for women’s health strategies
The event saw participation from 141 businesses, and a revealing survey conducted during the webinar highlighted significant gaps in workplace health strategies:
- 88% of the businesses reported not having a women’s health strategy in place.
- 73% of respondents believed that implementing a women’s health strategy would significantly aid in attracting and retaining female employees.
These statistics underscore the urgent need for businesses to develop and implement health strategies that address the unique needs of women in the workplace.
Partners& is committed to driving positive change in workplace wellbeing and encourages all businesses to prioritise women’s health. By adopting informed strategies and policies, companies can create healthier, more inclusive workplaces that support the diverse needs of their employees.
