M&A Analyst

Location: Bristol (Hybrid)

Overview and key points

We are looking for a commercially minded and analytically driven M&A Analyst to join our growing Corporate Development team during an exciting period of rapid expansion.

Reporting to the Corporate Development Manager, you will play a key role in supporting mergers and acquisitions activity across the Group. You will be involved throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities through to transaction execution, post-deal performance tracking, and integration support.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to build or further develop a career in M&A within a fast-paced, private equity backed, acquisitive business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end M&A process, including target assessments, due diligence, transaction execution, and post-acquisition integration and monitoring.
  • Conduct financial analysis, synergy identification, valuation modelling, and business case development to support investment decisions.
  • Analyse financial, operational, and commercial information to identify risks, opportunities, and value creation initiatives.
  • Assist with transaction documentation, deal completion activities, and stakeholder management throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Monitor acquisition performance, synergy delivery, completion accounts, and earnout calculations.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and insights for senior leadership and Board-level audiences.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify acquisition targets and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external advisers, communicating complex financial information clearly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).

Experience & Skills

  • Practice-trained qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Experience in Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Deals Advisory, Audit, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong financial analysis, valuation, and financial modelling capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within insurance broking or financial services is desirable but not essential.
