Since joining Partners& as the cornerstone of its Scottish business in 2022, MacDonald Group, one of the leading insurance advisory businesses in Scotland, has gone from strength to strength.
Led by Ewan MacDonald, the firm, which is based in Inverness with offices in Benbecula, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth, has grown by more than 70% and created outstanding development opportunities for its team.
It’s now taking the next step in its successful journey and rebranding to Partners&.
Looking ahead, the team is forecasting a further 20% growth in the 2025/26 financial year, a mixture of both business and talent acquisition.
The MacDonald Group was founded in 1978 and today continues to provide high quality specialist business insurance, personal insurance and claims management advice to small, medium and large clients across a range of sectors from distilleries and hospitality to engineering and construction. Joining Partners& brought further expertise to the group, including employee benefits and business protection, both of which are increasingly relevant to businesses today as they grapple with people related issues.
Ewan said: “I’m really proud of the journey we have travelled. My main aim has always been to keep people at the heart of our thinking – both our clients and our team. Our story proves that when you do that, success follows. Joining Partners& was the right move three years ago, as it has enabled us to provide more services for our clients and provide great support around their many business challenges.
“The team has also benefitted from wider opportunities that a leading firm such as Partners& can create – whether that’s through further professional development, in-house learning academies or working across different teams – all of which have enabled the team to progress in their careers which has been lovely to see.
“We’re at a point now when the team want to be more integrated into the wider Partners&. We’ll still cherish the long history we have as MacDonald Group, the strong connection we have established with our clients and the critical presence we have in our communities, which are so important to all of us…we’ll simply have more solutions to offer our clients.”
