Partners& Launches “16 to CEO” Apprenticeship Programme

Partners& has launched a new apprenticeship scheme to encourage young people from diverse backgrounds to explore the insurance industry as a viable career.

Designed with 16-17 year olds in mind, the programme is seeking bright, ambitious and talented students to be part of the programme.

The curriculum has been designed by the Partners& learning and development team and includes a wide range of skill-building sessions, from interview training, personal brand awareness and presentations skills to work shadowing and meeting with senior leaders who will share their stories and how they have advanced in the sector.

Natalie McClean, Partners& Chief People Officer, explained:

“We want to provide young talent with an opportunity to experience what working in an insurance advisory business is really like. We think insurance is the best kept secret of the finance world. Whilst people often say they never set out to be in insurance, once they start, they rarely leave! That’s because it can be a fulfilling and rewarding career.

“The insurance industry is facing a crisis – if we don’t create opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds to consider insurance as a viable employment option, we will struggle to recruit the talent required to support our profession.

“We are continuing to work with Working Options in Education, our charity partner since 2022, to tap into schools across the UK and we’re really looking forward to getting started with ‘16 to CEO’.”

The first cohort of apprentices will start in July based at the Partners& High Wycombe office. Additional programmes will be rolled out in due course.
