Partners& raises £3,000 to support young people entering the financial services sector

Partners& raised £3,000 for its nominated charity, Working Options, at its annual Golf Day held at Bowood Golf Club

Co-hosted with ecosystem partner, Integrity365, 120 guests from a wide range of sectors enjoyed the sunshine on the longest day of the year, followed by a dinner and raffle that helped to raise funds for the charity

Working Options in Education is an employability and life skills charity that has been helping young people to aim high and fulfil their potential since 2010. The Working Options Career Pathways Programme is delivered free in state schools, colleges and online by industry volunteers and helps students (aged 14-19) to identify and pursue career options. Through practical help and advice, they build their skills and become confident to face their future with choices and progress from ‘Learner to Earner’.

We’re very conscious that our sector needs to do more to encourage people from different backgrounds to join the profession. That’s why our people agenda is focused on diversity, belonging and inclusion, because we want our people to reflect the great diversity we have in our client base. Not many young people think about becoming an insurance professional when they are thinking about their future, but it can be a fulfilling and rewarding career, and our aim, in partnering with Working Options, is to share our experience with students at a time in their lives when they are making these important decisions. I’d like to thank Chris Jelf and the team for organizing such a successful event.

It was a great day. Not only did it kick off the charity partnership we have with Partners&, it raised funds for our work and gave us the opportunity to talk to an industry who are keen to attract socially diverse talent. Working Options is able to provide a solution to that through our Career Pathways Programme, which has seen over 16,000 students take part this year. We are confident that this important partnership will help shape the future workforce for the insurance industry and so thank Partners& for the opportunity.
