We’re delighted to announce that we were able to secure not one, but two funding awards from the Aviva Broker UK Broker Community Fund 2023.
The Aviva Broker Community Fund provides the chance for insurance brokers to win funding for charities and causes from a total pot of £300,000. Over 160 insurance brokers submitted applications for this year’s fund, with 40 being selected as winners to receive much needed support for their chosen charities.
Our entries supported two funding requests – one for Working Options in Education and another for Dundee Bairns.
Working Options received a £5,000 funding award with another £2,500 for Dundee Bairns.
Working Options in Education is an employability and life skills charity that helps young people to aim high and fulfil their potential. Our aim in partnering with Working Options is to address the “great retirement” – a crisis that is looming in our industry. Through our collaboration, we aim to shine a spotlight on the insurance industry as a fulfilling and rewarding career option for more young people.
This award will play help fund the expansion of Working Options’ work in the West Midlands area, specifically in areas with low social mobility, such as Edgbaston, West Bromwich, Tamworth, and Cannock Chase. Dundee Bairns was established in 2016 with the aim of alleviating holiday hunger and to ensure that no child in Dundee should go hungry.
Many low-income families struggle to provide meals during the school holidays. This is especially prevalent in Dundee City where over 1/3 of children are living in poverty. Dundee Bairns support projects in areas of high multiple deprivation by reaching the most vulnerable children and providing them with a nutritious meal, thus reducing pressure on parents to provide food and boost community cohesion.
In 2023 no child should go hungry, and this is why the work that Dundee Bairns do is so important and why Partners& Dundee fully support them in all their activities.
