Magazine: Partners& raises £11,000 for Working Options in Education

Over the months of May and June, the team at Partners& have been busy! We’ve raised more than £11,000 for our nominated charity, Working Options in Education, through two fantastic initiatives – an all company Charity Challenge in the month of May and our annual golf day in June.

We’re committed to diversity and inclusion – a key part of which is providing access for young people from all backgrounds to learn about the insurance sector and consider it as a viable career option.

We believe that talent is distributed evenly across the population, but opportunities are not – that’s why our colleagues voted to support Working Options in Education, an employability and life skills charity that helps young people to aim high and fulfil their potential.

The Partners& Charity Challenge

In our first ever Charity Challenge, 107 colleagues signed up to get together, get fit and have fun by running, walking or cycling 100 miles in the month of May. By the end of the challenge on 31 May, our colleagues used the YuLife app to clock up over 2,331 miles, the equivalent of walking Land’s End to John O’Groats 2.6 times. The generous support of family, friends, clients and ecosystem partners helped to raise £6,460.

The Partners & Annual Golf Day

In June, together with our ecosystem partner, Integrity365, co-hosted clients and ecosystem partners at our annual golf day at Bowood Golf Course in Calne, Wiltshire. Guests donated generously and bid on auction prizes to raise a further £4,600.

The money raised will directly fund Working Options’ work, which includes delivering online masterclasses to broaden young people’s knowledge of careers, skill-building workshops, hosting Industry Insight sessions in schools and developing online content aimed at creating millions of lightbulb moments that will empower young people to flourish.

Phil Barton, Partners& CEO, said:

Our partnership with Working Options in Education brings together two critically important perspectives: The first of which, diversity, belonging and inclusion, is at the core of Partners&, whilst the second, the war for talent, is an industry wide issue of huge significance. We're thrilled with our relationship we have with Work Options and how engaged our colleagues are with the work it does. We look forward to deepening our partnership in the future as we confront these challenges together.

Sue Maskrey, Working Options in Education CEO, said:

Partners& is a shining example of how charities want to work with companies. Their commitment to diversity and inclusion runs through the whole organisation and we feel fully supported by every Partners& colleague we engage with. The company’s fundraising is providing crucial financial support for our work supporting young people to achieve their potential. We feel extra special that so many staff have contributed to our work in this way. A big thank you from our team and young people!
