Luxury student accommodation provider Study Inn began its journey in 2008 with the desire to provide a next-level student experience. Providing accommodation with an emphasis on both hospitality and wellbeing for the student sector.

Study Inn operates a “vertically integrated platform which includes in-house capability in acquisition, finance, design, interior design, planning, procurement, development, operation, and ongoing asset management” with an ambition to take total room production to beyond 10,000 beds.

Challenge:

Whilst not dissatisfied with the levels of service provided by their previous broker, the Study Inn team was keen to explore alternative options.

Insurance spending across the group was high and so management were keen to partner with a broker who would dive into detail the of the business’ operations and tailor a package that would be suitable for their needs both as an operator and developer of student accommodation.

The remit was twofold: to see whether the level of service and cover could be improved upon whilst also looking at ways to save cost.

Perform:

Despite initial concern from management around Study Inn’s migration to Partners& prior to an imminent renewal in 2022, the handover and renewal process was pain-free.

Throughout the course of the first year, Adam continued to get to know the business and was in regular contact to support with any questions or queries throughout the year.

Having recently undertaken Study Inn’s 2023 renewal, once again Adam and the team took a holistic approach to risk management with the necessary detail to negotiate on behalf of Study Inn with a number of underwriters for the forthcoming year’s cover.

After another successful renewal, Study Inn has since worked with another member of the Partners& team, Leighton Churchill, Wellbeing, Health and Protection adviser to explore their employee proposition. This year, taking out their first Group Life policy for all employees. Together Adam and Leighton were able to secure a programme that included access to virtual GP and EAP services for over 140 employees as part of their Group Life policy.
