The NHS waiting List:  Unlucky 7s?

The NHS England waiting list hits yet another new high – and this may be particularly bad news for employers with a large employment footprint in less affluent areas of the United Kingdom.  In this personal LinkedIn article, Steve Herbert explores recent findings and evidence produced by both the British Medical Association (BMA) and The Kings Fund.

The Autumn Statement:  Back on track?

The Chancellor of the Exchequer’s 2023 Autumn Statement included several rather surprising measures and changes for employers to consider and/or implement.  Steve Herbert looks at announcements including the very significant increase to the National Living Wage from April 2024, the 2% decrease in employee National Insurance in January, and the announcement of a pension “pot for life” consultation which might fundamentally change auto-enrolment duties for employers.
